Hoskings promotions put on another great night of fights at the St Kilda Town Hall, Melbourne – Australia last night with the main act, the Moloney brothers headlining the card.
1st up to bat was Jason who was up against Immanuel Naidjala from Namibia who came into the fight as tough and durable and a proud record as never being stopped. The “Smooth One” impressively went about his work keeping the dangerous African at bay with his stinging jabs and powerful body shots. The 3rd round Jason corned Naidjala and unleashed a fury of punches in which experienced referee Malcom Bulner wisely called a halt to proceedings at 1min 14secs. With this win, Jason can lay claim to be the 1st to stop Naidjala, retain his WBA Oceania Bantamweight title and also pick up the vacant Commonwealth title.

The main event of the night, Andrew “The Monster” Moloney was facing seasoned pro Rene Dacquel from the Philippines with a record of 20-6-1. Leading up to the fight, social media reports had a very confident Dacquel saying he had the tools to upset Moloney and give him his 1st loss. Those thoughts became a reality as he started fast and strong. But the champion always has a plan to overcome any pressure and with a experience corner of Angelo Hyder and Tony Nobbs, they adjusted his fight plan and he fought a very controlled and balance fight. Dacquel did have his moments and was in the contest but Andrew woke up to his swinging punches and uppercuts quickly and countered with precison punching. With this being Andrew’s 1st attempt at 12 chamionship rounds, it proved invaluable for future fights as he comfortably won on all 3 judges cards 117-111, 118-111 and 119-109. Super Flyweight is now the glamour division and with this win he retains his WBA Oceania and OPBF titles and is now right in the mix to make a statement to all fighters…Andrew “The Monster” Moloney is here.
