Smith wins East/West Title.

Mason Smith (Australia) challenged Marcus Heywood (New Zealand) for the WBA Oceania East/West (Interim) title.

Marcus came into the fight under a cloud of uncertainty due to the sudden passing of his trainer 3 weeks earlier. He persevered and came to fight but in the end was no match for the local fighter Smith who won by UD 99-91 – 98-92 & 97-93 on all 3 judges’ scorecards.

Smith made it clear straight after the fight he wants newly crowned WBA full champion Benjamin Hussain who 3 weeks earlier dethroned former Oceania champion and then world rated #9 Koen Mazoudia by S/D in Sydney.

This will be a mouth watering fight which will have huge public interest.
